Kaysie Wood Competing in the British Drift Championship 2017
Kaysie Wood, winner of the 2014 Pro category of the Malta Drifting Championship and top 16 qualifiers at King of Europe is going to compete in the British Drifting Championship 2017 in the Pro Category in March. The championship will commence on the 25th and 26th March.
Kaysie will compete with his Toyota Supra with Learn2drift. In the coming days, Pro Speed Parts Malta will be doing work on the Supra’s gearbox and the car will be shipped to UK with the help of Stephen Attard of LMS Transport.
Preparations are almost ready, thanks to Mark Galea and Clint Abela from Prospeed Parts Malta and with the help of his crew especially Kaysie’s fiancé. This opportunity couldn’t happen without the help of Learn2drift, thanks goes to Andy Arnott who saw Kaysie’s huge potential and offered him the slot to race in the championship.
Without sponsors, nothing can happen although most of the drivers in Malta support themselves from their own pocket. Kaysie’s current sponsors are Driftworks Competition Clutch, SFS Performance, Inovit Alloys, K&N and Bobby’s Tattoo Studio. Kaysie also thanked his previous sponsors Nankang Tyres, Montebello Group, Sunoco, Rota Alloys, Garmin, ABC Clutches, Motul Oil, Osbert Engineering, Plasti Dip, Logo Grafix and C.Borg Aluminium.
The drifting championship will be streamed live on the BDC website http://www.thebritishdriftchampionship.co.uk/. Kaysie’s car number will be 323.
Motorsport Malta wishes Kaysie the best of luck in the British Drift Championship. We will be supporting and follow you throughout the championship.
